Conflict is a natural part of working together, especially in environments where people care deeply about their work.

This three-hour, interactive workshop helps participants understand why conflict happens, how it shows up, and what to do in the moment when tensions arise.

Rather than focusing on hierarchy or leadership roles, this session is designed for any group of people who work together. It explores conflict from multiple perspectives, peer-to-peer, across roles, and as a third party, making it easier for participants to recognize conflict dynamics and respond thoughtfully, no matter their position.

Hosted by the team at Ground Floor, this workshop balances foundational theory with highly practical strategies, giving participants tools they can immediately apply to real workplace situations.

Join us on Friday, February 20th from 1-4pm ET for an Interactive, discussion-driven, and scenario-based, session.

Participants will leave better equipped to navigate conflict with thoughtfulness, clarity, and care, strengthening both relationships and workplace culture.

Please note: This session is priced for individuals attending. If you are attending with a group or a team please contact Program Manager, Patricia at patriciac@pact.ca

ABOUT GROUNDFLOOR:

Ground Floor was co-founded in 2021 by five theatre artists who came together to explore the question "how can we make the theatre industry a healthier place to work?"

With that very large question in mind, co-founders Dave Ball, Alexis Gordon, Richard Lam, Amelia Sargisson and Tahirih Vejdani spent a year speaking to experts on care, social justice, and empathetic practice. Together, they searched for ways to circumvent traditional patterns of harm in the theatre industry and forge new paths for creating deeply embodied work. The solution they came up with is ARCS - a guided process for beginning new collaborations from a place of curiosity, empathy, and support.

At the same time, Ground Floor began running a Two-Way Mentorship program, which connects emerging and established theatre artists in a multi-generational, bilateral exchange of ideas and information. In 2023, the team also created TINK: a one-day theatre creation accelerator inspired by the hack-a-thons of the tech world.

All of Ground Floor's human-centred programs seek to foster more candour, curiosity and compassion in the raw, messy, vulnerable pursuit of learning and working together.

Originally supported through Talk Is Free theatre's Artist Basic Income Guarantee program, Ground Floor is now proud to be a standalone organization, continuing its mission of connecting people and supporting healthier collaborations in the theatre and beyond.
