The Access Playbook with Creative Connector
PACT is looking for organizations interested in deepening their Accessibility capacity, by subsidizing participation in the Spring cohort of The Access Playbook, presented by Creative Connector.
About
The Access Playbook is a foundational, disability-led program for arts presenters and organizations who want to increase the representation of Deaf and Disabled artists on their stages.
This introductory cohort supports you to build stronger, more sustainable collaborations with Deaf and Disabled artists — so access is built into how work is programmed, supported, and presented.
Developed with support from the Canada Arts Presentation Fund (CAPF), Government of Canada
Who this cohort is for
-
Presenters, producers, programmers, and arts workers involved in decisions about what work gets programmed or put on stage
-
Organizations that are early in their access journey, rebuilding after change, or seeking a clearer starting point
-
Organizations who want practical, values-aligned ways to strengthen collaboration with Deaf and Disabled artists
Please note: This program may not be the right fit for those seeking advanced technical training, formal accessibility audits, or compliance-based certification.
What participants will walk away with
- Practical access planning tools, templates, and guides you can use in your day-to-day workflow
- Real examples and case studies from artists and presenters in the performing arts sector
- A clear, usable access plan for your next project or season
- A participation certificate you can reference in grant applications
- Access to our support team and advisors for guidance and feedback
- Ongoing connection to a disability-led arts community
How it works
The program runs over just under 12 weeks (with three weeks of independent work) and blends short, self-paced learning with live, facilitated cohort sessions. You’ll connect with peers, reflect together, and apply what you’re learning to your own context and consists of:
- Self-paced learning
- Live cohort sessions
- Optional partner work sessions
- Real-world application

Requirements
- This upcoming cohort is intentionally small (only 20 spots available across four cohorts), so we require that the company representative is prepared for their full participation in the program.
- Selected companies will be required to share a brief report to PACT about their experience upon completion, to aid the organization in assessing its future accessibility initiatives.
