Environmental Stewardship
The Environmental Stewardship Committee is made up of PACT Members & Colleagues and non-member individuals and organizations who want to play a role in cultural transformation towards a climate-safe future, transitioning the world and theatre industry into climate action and sustainable practice.
We work through subcommittees to focus on specific areas. Currently the Subcommittees are Learning and Networking, Green Awards, and Production and Touring.
By focusing on the theatre industry, we aim to make a lasting societal impact by:
- Advocating for and raising awareness of environmental issues through building and promoting a network of tools and resources and encouraging informed and impactful action.
- Transitioning our sector to greener practices and working to make it sustainable at every level.
- Amplifying organizations and companies that exemplify this work, and showing the PACT membership and the entire arts and culture sector in Canada how their storytelling superpowers can “re-author the world,” both on and off stage. Learn more about the PACT Green Award here.
- Sharing knowledge and steps to risk mitigation and strategies to operate during climate change and climate disasters.
