Job Description

The Theatre Camp Counsellor – Residence Facilitator is responsible for supervising participants outside of class time and providing support as needed throughout the day. This role involves acting as a mentor and chaperone for participants enrolled in the Stratford Festival’s Theatre Arts Camp, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Reporting to the Associate Director of Education, the Counsellor – Residence Facilitator collaborates with instructional staff and program leaders to create a positive and engaging camp experience. This position also includes staying in residence alongside participants and planning and running activities outside instructional hours to foster community and enhance the overall camp experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise participants, outside of class time and as needed during the day
  • Act as mentor and chaperone to participants enrolled in the Stratford Festival’s Theatre Arts Camp 
  • Ensure safety and well-being of all participants enrolled in the program 
  • Stay in residence alongside participants 
  • Plan and run activities outside instructional time
  • Adhere to the Stratford Festival Health & Safety Commitment and Procedures, and ensure that safe work practices and policies are supported and enforced within reporting structure.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of training in a Post-Secondary Diploma or University Undergraduate Degree or equivalent, preferably with a focus on Theatre/Drama, Child & Youth Work/Education
  • 1 to 3 months of related experience
  • Provide a clear vulnerable sector criminal record check
  • Previous camp or recreation experience and an affinity for working with grade 7-12 students considered an asset
  • Emergency First Aid/CPR/AED certification or above

This contract full-time posting is for an existing vacancy located in Stratford, Ontario and will begin July 5, 2026. This position requires the candidate to work onsite. Candidates are required to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Weekly Pay Rate: $915.20
