Bravo Academy for the Performing Arts has established itself as a leader in performing arts education in Toronto since 2007. Bravo is committed to high quality performing arts education for students of all ages and skill levels. In 17 years, Bravo has produced over 200 full musical productions, and has taught thousands of musical theatre and private music students. Bravo offers musical theatre programs for beginners and specialize in advanced musical theatre training through our well-known Troupe program. We offer private lessons in voice, piano, guitar, acting and dance. Bravo Academy is dedicated to the advancement of arts education and innovative programming. Our New Musical Theatre Intensives (NMTI) program focuses on developing new age appropriate contemporary musicals specifically for youth and teens and training emerging artists while working on new musicals in development. Two of our past musicals have gone on to win Patron’s Pick at The Toronto Fringe Festival (Drama 101 and The Crack of Doom).  

 

Job Description

Bravo Academy is in search of a dynamic and collaborative full-time School Manager to join our passionate team. They will oversee the facility, manage client relations and support our faculty and staff. The Manager will be able to provide in-depth knowledge of our programs to assist clients in selecting appropriate classes. The Manager will work with the Artistic Director in creating, implementing and executing programs and marketing plans and are part of the hiring/training team. The ideal candidate possesses previous managerial experience and a dedication to arts education. They are adaptable, organized, adept at multitasking, and enjoy interacting with children and parents. They excel in both collaborative and independent work settings, demonstrating self-sufficiency in task and project management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the facility, lessons and programs

  • Manage training and support teaching staff to ensure optimal standards of experience and arts education

  • Assist with growth strategies and program development

  • Manage administrative duties: accounts, student attendance, lesson/class scheduling, school calendar and day-to-day operations

  • Manage communications between faculty, staff, and clients

  • Maintain and create efficient operating systems

  • Develop marketing and communication strategies

  • Manage accounts, process payments and refunds

  • Coordinate on-site events such as recitals, musical theatre classes, workshops, galas, camps and staff training

  • Represent the school at public shows, conferences and/or events

  • Post and share school updates via social media

  • Deliver school-wide communications about upcoming programs, auditions, and performances

  • Oversee the creation and execution of seasonal marketing plans, including social media, in-school digital signage, and e-newsletters

  • Manage basic updates on the school website and collaborate with our website team for larger updates and changes

  • Collect and manage invoices and sending to accounting for processing 

  • Develop and support fundraising initiatives and sponsorships

  • Update HR and student policies in collaboration with the Artistic Director

  • Prepares contracts using existing templates for staff, faculty and contractors, and coordinates to completion

 

Qualifications

 

  • Proficient with standard office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, Zoom)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent collaborator, while also able to work independently as needed

  • Self-motivated and resourceful

  • Flexible and adaptable

  • Strong multi-tasker

  • High standards of professionalism

  • Excellent time management, organizational and problem solving skills

  • Adobe Software (Photoshop/Illustrator) an asset, but not required

  • Wordpress experience is an asset

  • Arts administration & education experience an asset

  • Vulnerable sector check required

 

Full-time hours (40 per week)

Schedule varies based on school needs (typical schedule is 9:00-5:30pm or afternoon/evening 1:00-9:30pm)

Flexibility for hybrid schedule based on operational needs

 

Bravo Academy School Hours

Sept. to June: Monday to Thursday, 2:00-9:30 pm; Saturday & Sunday, 8:30am-5:00pm

Hours of operation fluctuate throughout the year depending on school needs.  Eg. summer hours are 9-4pm and closed on the weekends.
