A New Direction for the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres

Toronto, Ontario. (December 8, 2025) – The Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT) announce that their membership voted to approve the proposed 2026-2029 Strategic Plan, marking an exciting new chapter in the organization’s future.
“After more than a year in development, we are thrilled to see this strategic plan come to life,” said Brad Lepp, PACT Executive Director, “it reflects the current needs of our sector and creates opportunity for bold transformation, continuing our evolution from a club to a dynamic hub of connection, engagement, and advocacy”.
The new plan focuses on four interconnected pillars:
- Cultivate a More Engaged Community - Amplifying theatre's value and building strategic partnerships
- Create a More Supportive Sector - Advancing equity, professional development, and inclusive leadership
- Nurture a More Connected Membership - Fostering meaningful relationships across regions and organizational types
- Build a More Resilient PACT - Strengthening internal capacity and governance

PACT expresses its gratitude to the Strategic Planning Committee, Alex Currie (Theatre Calgary), Gloria Mok (Nightswimming Theatre), Natasha MacLellan (Theatre New Brunswick), Pablo Felices-Luna (Manitoba Theatre for Young People), Pat Rundell (Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People), Kathryn Westoll (Geordie Theatre), and Brad Lepp (PACT) for their leadership and dedication throughout this process. PACT also thanks all the Members, Colleagues, and partners who contributed their time, shared insights and participated in discussions and surveys. The strategic planning process was facilitated by Thomas Ledwell and Kim Fuller of Phil, we wish to thank them for dedication and support.
