Wednesday, May 3, 2023
Neptune Theatre, Scotiabank Stage and Lobby
5:30pm to 7pm: Reception
7pm to 9pm: Panel Discussion and Community Conversation

Neptune Theatre invites artists and arts organizations across the region to come together to dialogue around the topic of care in our performing arts community.

Panelists will include special guests from the performing arts community in HRM and Nova Scotia and will feature special guest Hannah Burrows from Burrows Counselling (www.burrowscounselling.ca).

We will discuss some of the following questions with regards to caregiving and artistic practice in our region:

What are our needs and the challenges in doing this work? What strategies in cultivating support for caregivers are people providing that are working? What are the ways we can come together to support those with caregiving responsibilities and other care needs? How is this work linked to health and wellness in the workplace? What might be possible if we centralize caring practices in our work? How can this work benefit all programs and companies in their overall activities and operations?
