Job Description

Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Start Date: August 10, 2026

Salary: $42,000 to $46,000 depending on level of experience

Hours: 35 hours per week (flexible; includes evenings/weekends for performances/events)

Reports to: Artistic & Executive Director / Artistic & Executive Associate

Centaur Theatre is seeking a self-motivated marketing and communications professional who is passionate about the performing arts and eager to contribute to a fast-paced, creative team environment in the heart of Old Montreal.

Position Summary

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for the ownership and day-to-day operation of Centaur’s marketing, communications and social media channels. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is the owner of Centaur’s marketing and communications strategy. They collaborate with internal partners to improve collaboration and communication within the organisation and with external partners to diversify major campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

1. Marketing and Communications Planning and Ownership

-Own and prepare the marketing calendar

-Own all Centaur marketing and communications, including conceptualizing and initiating marketing strategies

-Own and support the Centaur Brand internally and externally

-Work closely with administrative leadership, including Box Office & Sales Manager, on strategy development

-Collaborate with admin and leadership team on PR activities as required

2. Content Creation

-Create original photo and video content to market shows

-Create basic digital and print designs for banners, ads, emails, and more

-Prepare copywriting for social media and other marketing and communications content

3. Social Media

-Own, moderate and post regularly on the following social media accounts: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Bluesky

4. Communications

-Prepare weekly newsletter with Box Office & Sales team

-Coordinate internal communications

-Support Development team’s communications

5. Outreach and Partnerships

-Work with influencers and other nontraditional PR contacts as required

-Maintain and develop relationships with business and institutional partners

-Collaborate with admin and leadership team on PR activities as required

This role requires a mastery of English as the majority of Centaur Theatre’s audience, collaborators, and performances are Anglophone or in the English language.

Terms of Employment
  • Exclusivity: This is an exclusive contract. The employee must request written permission from the Artistic & Executive Director prior to taking on additional outside employment.
  • Probationary Period: A three-month probationary period will be followed by a formal performance review conducted by the Artistic & Executive Associate.
  • Work Environment: Requires a mix of office hours and on-the-ground presence during production peaks and showtimes, including some evenings and weekends.
