Company Overview
Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan (SOTS) is a professional non-profit theatre company that has brought Shakespeare and Shakespeare-inspired works to life on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River since 1985. For more than four decades, SOTS has enriched Saskatoon’s cultural landscape through bold, innovative productions led by skilled artists, supported by dedicated staff, and powered by over 100 community volunteers. As a recognized cultural cornerstone, SOTS continues to champion artistic excellence and create meaningful, shared experiences of live performance.
Following the incredible success of our 40th Anniversary Season—buoyed by strong community support and a successful matching campaign—SOTS now enters an exciting yet pivotal chapter. While this milestone year was a creative triumph, it also highlighted the financial realities of operating a year-round arts organization. Looking ahead to our 41st season, SOTS remains committed to careful stewardship, balancing artistic ambition with long-term sustainability.
SOTS is committed to fostering a workplace that reflects the diversity of our community. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and particularly encourage submissions from artists who identify as Indigenous, Black, People of Colour, 2SLGBTQ+, and/or artists living with disabilities.
