PACTcon 2024 Buddies Program Info Session

  • DATE: May 23 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT
  • FEE: FREE for Members / FREE for Non-Members

The PACTcon 2024 Buddies Program Info Session will be taking place over zoom on Thursday May 23rd, 1pm ET / 10am PST.

So, you bought your ticket to PACTcon, but you want to make sure you can make meaningful connections prior to the conference?

For the first time since 2019, PACT is re-launching the Buddies Program for PACTcon 2024! This program is for anyone interested in having a mentor guide them through the conference and help them make the most of it (even if you’ve attended before the pandemic). Mentors and their Buddies will have various touchpoints to meet prior to, during, and after the conference, to strengthen your network and lean on experienced theatre artists and administrators in the community.

This session will provide a guideline for the program, what to expect at the conference, as well as a brief overview of SwapCard, the official PACTcon 2024 conference app.

About the Buddies Program:

In PACT’s view, mentorship is a social exchange for learning at various points of one’s career. It’s not the hierarchal mentor/mentee relationship, but a constellation of theatre colleagues that can all bring something to the table. For purposes of clarity, those wanting to participate in this program are called Buddies and those supporting these Buddies are called Mentors. As previously mentioned, mentorship goes beyond this binary.

Mentors will have a chance to share knowledge and resources, informing the next generation of theatre makers and administrators across the country. Buddies will have the chance to meet before the conference, at a breakfast kick-off on Wednesday, May 29th and PACT will provide suggestions on places to meet around the city for participants. We also encourage Buddy/Mentors to keep in touch after the conference.

Interested in being a Buddy or Mentor? Email PACT’s Membership & Communications Associate at joshm@pact.ca to indicate your interest today.

Register by May 21st to receive a link to this zoom session.
